Located in Wake County and approximately 17 miles from Raleigh, Fuquay-Varina was settled in 1858 by William Fuquay and became famous for the mineral springs his grandson discovered while plowing a field. The town name pays homage to Fuquay, along with the wife of Civil War Veteran J.D. “Squire” Balentine, who named the post office after his wife. The communities of Fuquay Springs and Varina grew in their respective areas and later merged to become Fuquay-Varina. More recently, Fuquay-Varina became known as the birthplace of Katharine Stinson, the first female engineer to be employed by the Federal Aviation Administration. Fuquay-Varina has also become known for the Aviator Brewing Company, which has rapidly become one of the largest employers in Fuquay-Varina and is currently in the process of building a new 5-acre brewery site which is expected to bring 75 new jobs to Fuquay-Varina.
As Fuquay-Varina continues to grow, so does the need for new homes that can be built quickly and affordably. This often means that new homes are built using stock materials that are not designed to last and don’t offer the storage solutions homeowners need to maximize their space. Fortunately, Edgewood Cabinetry can solve these problems by replacing your stock particleboard and plywood cabinets with beautiful customized all wood cabinets that offer perfect solutions for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, offices, libraries, closets, and more.
