Located in Wake County, just north of Raleigh, Wake Forest began in 1832 on land purchased to create a Baptist educational institute, with the Wake Forest Institute opening two years later. Wake Forest has a rich Civil War History, with the college and some faculty homes transforming into hospitals for wounded soldiers during the war. More recently, Wake Forest became known as the home of beloved poet Maya Angelou, who spent four decades teaching students at Wake Forest University before her death in 2014. Wake Forest has also become known for the recently opened 104,000 square foot Wegmans store, which brought 450 new jobs to Wake Forest.
As the 10th fastest growing municipality in North Carolina, demand for new homes in Wake Forest has risen exponentially. In order to meet that demand, builders often focus on speed and affordable materials. Unfortunately, that means homes are frequently built with stock materials that aren’t designed to last and don’t offer adequate storage space. Edgewood Cabinetry can solve these problems by replacing stock particleboard and plywood cabinets with customized all-wood cabinets that offer perfect solutions for kitchens, laundry rooms, bathrooms, home offices, libraries, closets, and more.
