Choose Your Area
This is the first thing you need to consider when planning for a custom bar, this influences every other step you take after it so don’t take it lightly. You might already know where you want to have it built, which is fantastic! Some major things we think you should consider are:

- Access to cable TV, electricity, and water lines in the bar area

Consider Functionality

- Dishwasher/sink to help you clean up easily
- Ovens, pizza ovens, and a microwave for making snacks as you drink and mingle with your friends

Consider Storage
Having ample storage is of the utmost importance, not having the storage you need ultimately defeats the purpose of this whole project. You want everyone to easily be able to see what their options are. You can either have shelving installed against the wall to hold all of your drinks or do cabinets under your countertop, glass doors are preferable so you easily find what you need. You can create an even more sophisticated look by including simple LED lighting in the cabinets.
There are a lot of things you need to fully consider BEFORE any construction begins. Some of these are any artwork you want around it, if you’ll be including a sink, the flooring (if you want to change it), how tall your stools will be, and so much more. Always keep your own convenience in mind, if you think you’ll need something at your bar regularly like a water spicket, go ahead and make sure that’s included in the plan!
